Boao Forum for Asia Conference 2018 was open today in Boao, Hainan. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Chinese president, delivered a keynote speech titled with “Openness for Greater Prosperity, Innovation for a Better Future”. Li Jian’ge, Chancellor of GTIIT, who has been invited to the forum, listened to the speech.

During the forum, Chancellor Li met with Jonathan Zadka, deputy ambassador of the Israeli Embassy in China.

In the meeting, Chancellor Li introduced GTIIT to Mr. Jonathan Zadka in details, including undergraduate programs, faculty, future plans for GTIIT, etc. Mr. Jonathan Zadka said, Embassy of Israel in China, with great concern about the development and operation of GTIIT, hopes to do more to assist its development, therefore the national and international visibility of GTIIT would increase. Chancellor Li thanked Mr. Jonathan Zadka and invited Mr. Jonathan Zadka to visit GTIIT in the future. Hopefully, there would be more bilateral activities between the two. Coincidently, Mr. Jonathan Zadka is a Technion alumnus, no wonder why he personally has great attachment and expectation towards GTIIT.   

Boao Forum for Asia is a non-official, non-profit, regular organization with a permanent site. The theme of the forum this year is “An Open and Innovative Asia for a World of Greater Prosperity.” During the 4-day forum, four topics, concerning Globalization & the Belt and Road, Open Asia, Innovation and Reform & Opening-up, will be discussed by over 2000 invited guests in 60-odd sub-conferences.

In the event, Chancellor Li attended the Investment Promotion Luncheon hosted by Guangdong government, during which Ma Xingrui, Governor of Guangdong province introduced the development and prospects of Guangdong to the guests. In the evening of April 9th, Chancellor Li, invited as the guest speaker, joined the theme dinner party of international finance and trade co-hosted by National Institute of Financial Research of Tsinghua University, Tsinghua PBCSF and Tencent. Besides accepting interviews from the media, Chancellor Li also took part in two sub-conferences of “Monetary Policies: Back to Normal” and “Private Education.”
