Recently, GTIIT and the Research Neutron Source, Forschungs-Neutronenquelle Heinz Maier-Leibnitz (FRM II) of Technical University of Munich (TUM), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on academic cooperation and exchanges.

Prof. Eliezer Shalev, Vice-Chancellor of GTIIT; Prof. Moshe Eizenberg, Dean of GTIIT Graduate Studies and Head of Materials Science and Engineering Program; Prof. Juliane Winkelmann, Senior Vice President of TUM, and Prof. Peter Müller-Buschbaum, Scientific Research Director of Heinz Meyer-Leibniz Experimental Neutron Source (FRMⅡ), TUM signed the MOU on behalf of their respective universities.

Under this MOU, the two institutes aim to achieve a win-win situation in teaching and research and deepen international cooperation through further exchanges of staff and students, joint research activities, academic exchanges.

Dr. Amitesh Paul from GTIIT Materials Science and Engineering is a pioneer in condensed matter physics with over 26 years of research experience in neutron and synchrotron facilities. As the leader of this cooperation project, he said that with this MOU, which came over after almost a year-long negotiation, GTIIT students with neutron research interests can benefit from their experiences at large-scale facilities.
