Position Description
The career consultant will be responsible for planning and implementing strategy for students’ career services including graduate study/career development counselling, and reaching out to potential industries and universities for internships, employment and graduate study opportunities. S/he is responsible for developing friendly institutional relationships with private companies, government prganisations and universities. S/he will be part of designing and executing variety of both on- and off-campus activities including industry visits, organizing and attending recruitment expos, organizing lectures/talks on employment and further studies, organizing and conducting skills training workshops/seminars, employers’ and parents’ sessions to facilitate relationship building and promote awareness about the university. S/he is responsible for building up a good career services team and support other team members’ career development.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide individual consultations on students’ career development, job search, graduate school applications, review documents for grad school and job application;
Work with students to ensure grad school application document accuracy;
Review written documents for clarity, grammar, spelling, punctuation, content, and style;
Organize and/or conduct skills training workshops/seminars on internships and employment;
Organize and/or conduct talks, lectures on grad studies and provide support in grad school application;
Organize on-campus recruitment events and/or provide students with information on different recruitment events;
Promote students as a candidate pool and refer them to job/internship opportunities;
Receive personal/group visits and respond to inquiries;
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Job Specifications
Requried qualification: Master’s degree in counseling or student personnel development from an internationally recognized university;
Required work experience: 5-7 years’ relevant work experience;
International study or work experience is preferred;
Preferably good knowledge of career services including internship, career development and graduate study counselling at a higher education institute in similar capacity.
