Position Description  

The Materials Science and Engineering Program within GTIIT is looking for a motivated lab technician/ manager to support the research and training activities in a high-end ToF-SIMS laboratory.

Position Responsibilities

•   Install (with the help of the supplier) the ToF-SIMS instrument.

•   Maintain the equipment of the ToF-SIMS lab (the tools, spare parts, consumables, etc.) including interaction with the equipment suppliers

•   Establish, implement and maintain procedures for safety and operation of the lab for users

•   Provide ToF-SIMS instrument service when needed and schedule access and operation for various users

•   Interact with various research groups to understand ToF-SIMS characterization needs and help to develop experimental plans to provide structural characterization of materials

•   Provide training to users for equipment, operation and data analysis

•   Review experimental data, communicate results to projects members

•   Keep the lab clean and tidy and keep logbooks up to date

  
  

Requried Job Specifications

•   Required Educational Background: A degree in Materials Engineering/Physics/Chemistry (preferable) education at a higher level (MSc or above)

•   Required experience:

•     Over 3 years working experience in scientific environment, such as laboratory of a research center or industry R&D laboratory in chemical, surface engineering, materials or nuclear industry (mandatory)

•     Experience in SIMS, ToF-SIMS or other surface analytical techniques (preferable).

•     Experience in servicing and maintenance of laboratory equipment (mandatory).

•     Experience and proven practical understanding of environmental, health and safety procedures and laboratory waste management (mandatory).

•     Experience and understanding of standard and reference samples preparation for instrument calibration (mandatory)

•     Ability and willingness to undergo regular training, develop skills and self-learning.

•     Analytical mind, creativity, problem-solving oriented, attention to details, high standard of work in international environment, responsible and reliable.

Required Job Competencies

•     Language Ability: English (mandatory), Chinese (not mandatory but willingness to learn is an advantage), other languages is also a plus.

•      Ability to work in a team willingness to support each other

•     Good cooperativeness to supervisors
