Position Description
The incumbent will be responsible for establishing and overseeing the Youth League Committee, Student Association, student groups/clubs, and the arts, culture, sports and recreation programs and all student activities. S/he coordinates and supervises all student related activities and events, including designing and implementing education programs through workshops, guest lectures, performances, festivals, cultural events, and skills development to promote a sense of community, and maximize student learning and development.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Advise Student Association. Insure a fair student election process, promote interaction and communication between Student Association and university senior administrators, advise Student Association for future planning and development.
· Advise student groups/clubs. Develop procedures for launching new student groups/clubs, including advising students in drafting constitutions, by-laws, and protocols for budget request and activity proposals; provide trainings to student leaderships to improve their leadership and skills; conduct annual review of student groups/clubs.
· Plan and promote campus activities and events. Organize activities and events on campus, such as freshmen party, graduation commencement, etc.; supervise students in planning and promoting campus activities and events.
· Plan and implement community engagement programs. Liaise with international and local community for community engagement programs; advising students in participating in voluntary programs.
· Advise students in maintaining rosters of student clubs and organizations and the transition of responsibilities between old and new officers.
· Oversee the budget of student activities and events and claim expenses on behalf of student groups/clubs.
· Apply a flexible approach to work, recognizing that there will be some weekend and evening activities that may require attending and helping students in meeting their needs for their activities and events.
· Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be required.
Required Job Specifications
· Required qualification / academic degree: Master degree from an internationally reputable university, preferably in psychology, social work, education, arts or relevant subjects.
· Required experience: Working experiences in higher education institutions is preferred.

` Language ability: Fluent in both written and spoken Chinese (Putonghua) and English;
` Strong sense of responsibility, initiative and carefulness;
` Excellent organization and planning skills;
` Good interpersonal and communication skills to work in an international, cross-cultural work environment;
` Ability to lead a team to work on multiple tasks under pressure;
` Strong sense of fairness and confidentiality;
` Knowledge of the differences between Chinese and western higher education systems.
