Position Description

Under the supervision of IT Director, the IT Infrastructure Manager is a critical member of IT team providing, maintaining and supporting the infrastructure systems and technology services within the IT Department, including the network, server farm, data center, and cloud hosting environment.


Duties and Responsibilities                                                                     

· Design and implement reliable IT infrastructure solutions which meet the needs of GTIIT.

· Supervise and oversee the optimal operation of all network hardware and equipment, including firewalls, routers, switches, wireless controllers, access points, VoIP devices, CCTV, UPS, etc.

· Manage and ensure effectiveness of server farm, including Office 365, domain controllers, VMware Hypervisor and associated operating systems and software.

· Manage servers including domain controllers, VMware Hypervisor, web, print, smartcard, database, backup and others, and associated operating systems and software.

· Evaluate and explain complex problems or situations and make sound decisions to maintain high availability for business applications and technology services.

· Support in cyber security to compliance with local laws and regulations, and ensures effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems.

· Communicate the business impact and ensure the right IT infrastructure resources are available and engaged to quickly resolve any technology issue.

· Ensure the availability, performance, and operational integrity of the IT systems and networks serving the GTIIT community.

· Provide solutions that support the standards established by the IT service strategy.

· Deliver the best customer experience by following IT policies and procedures.

· Adhere to escalation process by collecting the required information and make sure incident is properly updated in ITSM system before the ticket is escalated.

· Review support model and identify opportunities for continued process improvement.

· Some out of hours on-call support will be required.

· Any other duties appropriate to the grade and role of the person appointed.


Required Job Specifications and Competencies

· Required qualification: Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Information Technology or related discipline.

· Required experience: customer service in IT department; candidates with experience in international education organization will be considered first.

· 5+ years of experience managing and configuring servers and campus-wide network infrastructure.

· Exceptional knowledge of service and application delivery, as well as successful SLA accomplishments.

· Excellent knowledge of current protocols and standards, including Office 365, Active Directory, Group Policies, Windows Server, Linux, Campus Firewall, Core · Switching/Routing, SSL/IPSec, VoIP, SAN, Virtualization, Business Continuity, Cyber Security, and Disaster Recovery.

· Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware such as servers, routers, switches, etc.

· Relevant vendor certification such as CCNP, ARUBA, HP/H3C, MCSE, or equivalent training

· Knowledge and understanding of ITIL and project management methodology, such as PMP, PRINCE2.

· Good understanding of business goals and objectives in international higher education environment.

· Fluency in English (spoken and written) is essential.

· Excellent communications and interpersonal skills

· An ability to gain new technical IT skills quickly in a rapidly changing discipline.
