Lital Shemen finished both her BSc and Master degrees in the Mathematics department at the Technion, focusing on non-linear analysis and fixed point theory. 

She then worked with an optimization group at the Industrial Engineering department at the Technion, on research and applications of gradient descent methods. 

At the moment she is on a break from research, and focusing on teaching. Her interest is in the first-year basic courses of the Mathematics department at the Technion, for both math and engineering students, as she believes in the importance of these courses in creating solid foundations that may affect their entire studies and careers.
