Position Description                                                                      

Guangdong Technion Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) in Shantou, Guangdong Province, is looking for a lab assistant in the Materials Engineering Program under the leadership of Prof. Klaus-Dieter Liss.

Duties and Responsibilities                                                                    

· Work within the project Modern Diffraction Methods for the Investigation of Thermo-Mechanical Processes.

· Perform advanced and unconventional analysis of existing data acquired at synchrotron and neutron facilities.

· Design future experiments on the study of thermos-plastic processes and apply synchrotron or neutron beam time at national or international facilities.

· Establish contacts to facilities, particularly with the aim to establish activities at the national facilities.

· Publish analyzed data and results in scientific journals.

· Work in a team and closely collaborate and co-operate with the other members.

· One manuscript should be submitted within 6 months’ time to which the candidate has contributed to qualify for author or co-authorship.

· It is expected that the candidate takes up graduate studies on the project, at which the present contract/agreement will cease.

Required Job Specifications                                                                

· Required qualification: Masters in Materials Science or Physics.

· Required work experience: experience related to analysis of high energy X-ray data, complemented by EBDS data.

Required Job Competencies                                                                

· Working language is English, with Chinese background;

· Computing skills, coding in mat lab or similar, Fortran.
