From November 1 to 4, the seventh meeting of the Nan'ao Science Conference, on the topic of healthcare, hosted by Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology and Shantou Municipal Government, and organized by the Guangdong Basic and Applied Basic Research Fund Committee and Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT), was held on Nan'ao Island in Shantou.

Wu Shiwen, Deputy Director of Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology; Peng Congen, Vice Mayor of Shantou city attended the meeting and delivered the speech.

Prof. Lin Yandan from Fudan University, Prof. Liu Yebin from Tsinghua University and Prof. Tu Shengxian from Shanghai Jiao Tong University served as the executive chairman of this Conference. 34 experts, scholars and representatives from top universities, research institutes, hospitals and companies from health industries attended the Conference, discussed about artificial intelligence and medical industry.

During the 4-day conference, the scholars shared their latest research updates and output in 12 key speeches. The cross-disciplinary discussion did brought new sparks of inspiration for research, as many participants pointed. Besides, a series of industry-university-research cooperation were proposed during the interactions between the scholars and the companies.

The Nan'ao Science Conference is hosted by Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology and Shantou Municipal Government, and organized by the Guangdong Basic and Applied Basic Research Fund Committee and Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT). Since its inception in February this year, six high-level academic conferences have been held, attracting more than 200 experts and scholars to discuss topics on basic research, quantum materials and manipulation, high-efficiency integration of optoelectronics, etc. It has played a vital role in fostering the development of related fields.

Focusing on basic research and talent training in basic academic disciplines, GTIIT, as the Secretary Office unit and one of the organizers of the Nan'ao Science Conference, has ensured the Conference's continued success while adhering to municipal strategy, to help build the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area into a global highland for basic research and original innovation.
