Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) 2023 Freshmen Basketball Game and Football Game came to a successful end. After the intense competitions, Basketball Team Four and MCS Football Team beat the others and became the champion of each game.

Go All Out for the Champion

During the three-day basketball competitions, the players, all with the desire to win, have fully implemented the tactics guided by the coach. The brilliant cooperation and defense that the players showed had won the cheers and applause from the audience.

Team Three and Team Four met in the final decisive game, which started with a fierce defense between the two sides. At the beginning periods, Team Four had a good start with several points up, while Team Three came from behind subsequently. At the last moment, Wang from Team Four made a free flow, which is a game-winning shot to beat Team Three.

It's not winning that matters, but friendship. The players' hard work, the fairness and professionalism of the referees, the conscientiousness of the staff, as well as the cheering of the spectators, all contributed to a fantastic basketball game for the new students. The game also provided a chance for students to make friends with like-minded people and to communicate with students from different programs.

The Winner Won All Three Games with Absolute Strenth

The MCS Team won the Game

GTIIT successfully held the 2023 Freshmen Football Game recently. The team of Mathematics with Computer Science (MCS) Program won the whole three matches and became the final champion. The participants were divided into four teams according to their programs and competed in a round-robin way. All the competitors and teams showed their passion and sportsmanship during the games.  

On October 11's match, the MCS team met with the team of Mechanical Engineering (ME) Program to fight for the top 1 place. Before the end, the ME team got a penalty, which was taken by Liu Mingxi, but unexpectedly lost the point while the ball slipped out of the gate. The game ended 3 in 1, winning by the MCS team. After the game, the players of both sides shook hands and hugged each other, showing the spirit of "friendship first" and their passion for football.

The October 14's game was carried on in a relatively relaxing atmosphere, where the MCS team met the team of Chemical Engineering (CE) Program and Biotechnology and Food Engineering (BFE) Program. At the middle of the game, Zhang Boyi broke the deadlock of 3:3 with an unexpected goal. With this goal, the MCS team won the game with a come-from behind triumph.

The Freshmen Football Game showed the GTIIT students' vigor and their enthusiasm for football. The competitors fought for honor, strived for each other, performing their best at their youth life in GTIIT.
