On November 26th, the fourth Student Congress of Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) was held in E101, the Teaching Building of North Campus, with 34 student representatives gathering. Prof. Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT, Ms. Li Min, Secretary of the GTIIT Youth League Committee, and other members of the GTIIT Youth League Committee attended the congress.

The congress reviewed and approved the work report of the fifth Student Union, GTIIT, and voted to elect the presidium members of the sixth Student Union. 

China's young people of today are living in a remarkable time. They have an incomparably broad stage on which to display their full talents, and they have incomparably bright prospects of realizing their dreams. Prof. Lin Danming raised hopes for students from the Student Union:

Firstly, the students should abide by their duties and effectively play a role in leading with courage to explore scientific spirits. And they should comply with laws and regulations, school rules and academic norms, actively promoting civilized campus construction. Secondly, the Student Union should bear the purpose of service in mind and expand the communication channels on campus to help students solve difficulties; Thirdly, the Student Union should be diligent and create an equal atmosphere with patience; Fourthly, the students should strive to create a vibrant and pure organizational culture.

Ms. Li Min hoped students in GTIIT would exert their youth power, grasp the opportunities of the age, and contribute to the university, the city and the country.

He Qixi, a member of the fifth Student Union presidium, delivered a work report and summarized the work of the Student Union in the past one year, surrounding aspects of campus life, students' comprehensive quality and students' rights. For example, the Student Union held the first debate competition, carried out a singing contest and built the communication bridge between the university and the students to improve logistics service on campus.

During the election phase, the three candidates delivered their campaign speeches in turn and the student representatives cast their votes for the new presidium, selecting Zhang Liwen and Wang Hui as the new presidium members. The two students emphasized that they would work together to build the Student Union into a closer platform.
