GT Student Innovation Award

The "GT Data Group" composed of freshmen, Chen Mingxi and Lyu Dongtao from GTIIT stood out among over 500 teams as one of the 12 teams shortlisted for the final round of 2023 Shanghai Big Data Competition of Smart New Energy Vehicle, and finally won the "Excellence Award". On December 13th, Prof. David Gershoni, Vice Chancellor of GTIIT, and Prof. Moris S. Eisen, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs of GTIIT, presented the GT Student Innovation Award to the two students, encouraging them to make bold innovations while learning their majors.

New achievement by GTIIT

Recently, the Founding Conference for Community of Integration between Industry and Education by National Environmental Protection Industry and the 5th Seminar on Integration between Industry and Education were held in Changsha, Hunan Province, with more than 300 representatives from 166 institutions attending the conference. GT Technology and Entrepreneurship Collaboration Center (GTEC) from GTIIT was invited to the conference on behalf of the university. GTIIT was elected as the Executive Director Unit of Community of Integration between Industry and Education by National Environmental Protection Industry.

Qingyuan enterprises visited GTIIT

Recently, a delegation of Qingyuan science and technology enterprises visited GTIIT. The visitors included representatives from famous enterprises, associations and think tanks in Qingyuan. Prof. Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT and GTEC Director Michael Lv exchanged views with them. The delegation visited the laboratories at GTIIT and expressed admiration for the university's unique international education and scientific innovation. The two sides will continue to strengthen communication in environmental protection and chemical industry to jointly contribute to mutual development.

Technology seminar at GTIIT

Recently, the Electron Microscopy Center of GTIIT invited Mr. Shi Mingzhe, a senior engineer of China Electronic Product Reliability and Environmental Testing Research Institute, to carry out a seminar entitled "Principle and Practical Technology Analysis of X-ray Energy Spectrometer", with over 40 participants gathering. At the seminar, Mr. Shi elaborated the principles of X-ray energy spectrometer and the skills of combining scanning electron microscope and X-ray energy spectrometer, and shared typical application cases. Through the seminar, the participants deepened their understanding of X-ray energy spectrometer, which will contribute to their scientific research in the future.

Nike visited GTIIT

Recently, Nike W3 leadership team for manufacturing modernization visited GTIIT. Prof. Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT, introduced the development of the university to them. More than 30 guests, including advanced manufacturing management teams from Nike’s Asia-Pacific headquarter and China branch, as well as its local partner, Shantou Eagle Nice, visited laboratories of Department of Chemical Engineering, Department of Materials Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics, etc. in the company of GTEC. They focused on an AI-assisted clothing manufacturing project of Associate Professor Liu Mingyi from Department of Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Pradeep, the leader of the delegation and the director of Nike advanced manufacturing, expressed his appreciation for the scientific research strength of GTIIT, and encouraged Eagle Nice to reach collaboration with GTIIT on the project above.
