To strengthen the development of computational physics and build a high-level academic exchange platform for researchers, the "2023 Mini-Seminar on Computational Physics" organized by Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT), Institute of Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Nan'ao Science Conference was held in Nan'ao, Shantou, from December 22 to 25.
Prof. Gong Xingao, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chancellor of GTIIT warmly welcomed the experts and scholars. He introduced the development model and achievements of GTIIT, and shared its educational concept that great importance was attached to scientific research and innovation, which resonated among the participants.
Nearly 60 experts and scholars from Institute of Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peking University, Fudan University, Nanjing University, University of Science and Technology of China, Renmin University of China, Beihang University, ShanghaiTech University, Southern University of Science and Technology, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, etc. gathered together. They carried out in-depth discussion around the conference topic.
During the keynote speech, multiple professors delivered academic reports. Prof. Wu Quansheng of Institute of Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences made an academic report entitled "First-principles studies of magnetoresistance and Hall effects"; Prof. Wan Xiangang of Nanjing University gave an academic report entitled "Symmetry and its application in the study of magnetism"; Prof. Li Xinzheng of Peking University gave an academic report entitled "Complex Phase Diagram and Supercritical Matter", Prof. Liu Junwei of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology gave an academic report entitled "Novel Properties in antiferromagnetic materials", etc. The participants exchanged views and discussed the latest technological prospects.
