Position Description:
Learning Consultant plays a pivotal role in providing strategic guidance, support, and resources to enhance the learning experience of our students. This position requires a strong background in educational psychology, extensive experience in a learning center environment, and a deep understanding of practices in educational support. Additionally, the Learning Consultant will be responsible for managing a peer tutor program, including recruiting, training, and overseeing daily activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Individualized Consultation: Provide one-on-one consultations to students to assess their unique learning needs and develop personalized academic support plans.
· Learning Strategies: Offer expertise in learning strategies, study skills, and time management techniques to help students improve their academic performance.
· Mentoring and Coaching: Mentor students in setting and achieving academic goals, as well as in developing effective study habits and problem-solving skills.
· Collaboration: Collaborate with faculty, academic advisors, and other support staff to ensure coordinated support services for students.
· Resource Development: Develop and curate educational materials, resources, and workshops that enhance the learning experience for students.
· Assessment and Feedback: Evaluate the effectiveness of learning support programs and gather feedback from students for continuous improvement.
· Peer Tutor Program Management: Recruit, train, and manage the daily activities of the peer tutor program, ensuring the program aligns with best practices in academic support.
· Research and Innovation: Stay current with trends in educational psychology and learning support, contributing to innovative initiatives within the learning center.
Required Job Specifications:
· Required qualification / academic degree: Master's degree in Educational Psychology (Ph.D. preferred)
· Required experience:
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in educational psychology and learning support
Preferred 5+ years of experience working in a learning center or educational institution
Required Job Competencies:
· Language ability: Fluent in English
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population
· Knowledge of data analysis and assessment tools
· Proficiency in educational technology and e-learning platforms
