Position Description:

Guangdong Technion Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) in Shantou, Guangdong Province, is looking for an experienced lab manger in Biotechnology or Biology to manage the teaching laboratory in Biotechnology and Food Engineering Program and provide high-end professional services to faculty members in order to support their teaching.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Preparing reagents, chemicals, instruments and setups for the labs, installing and testing them.

·      Providing support and mentorship to the lab tutors before the lab and during the lab. Assisting the faculty member (who is academically in charge of the labs) in designing of laboratory experiments for students.

·       Assisting in writing the lab instructions for the students and performing the experiments with the tutors before introducing them to the students.

·       Taking care of lab program and schedule during the semester.

·       Responsibility of running the labs for students.

·       Being present during the lab sessions and solving technical problems.

·       Taking care of safety issues and lab maintenance, keeping the lab facilities operational and ready for the students and research personnel throughout the year.

·       Taking care of routine administrative tasks related to the lab.

·       Complete other relevant tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Required Job Specifications:

·       Required qualification / academic degree: master’s degree or above in Biotechnology and Food Engineering.

·       Required experience:  Experience in working with Biotechnology and Food Engineering.

Required Job Competencies:     

·       Language ability: Fluent English in speaking, reading and writing

·       Excellent communication, educational skills and service consciousness
