Marcos Tascon joined the Department of Chemistry at GTIIT as a Visiting Associate Professor in March 2024. Currently, he is Associate Professor in Analytical Chemistry and vice director of the Center for Heritage and Environmental studies at the National University of San Martin, as well as CONICET Associate Researcher at the Institute for Research and Environmental Engineering (3iA). He published over 45 scientific papers, 2 patents and 3 book chapters. He is currently supervising 3 Ph.D. students and 3 undergraduate students.
Nowadays, his research interests are focus on the development of new extraction technologies coupled to chromatographic techniques and/or direct analysis by mass spectrometry in the field of environmental sciences, as well as the development of non-invasive and micro-invasives analytical techniques applied to the study of cultural heritage.
