Position Description
You will be one of the new joint venture and of the dynamic student affairs team. You will provide evaluation, assessment and counseling services to students, through both individual and group sessions, that meet a wide range of students' mental health and developmental needs, as well as provide crisis management and emergency intervention services as required.
You will serve as a consultant to members of the university community, parents and local and students' home mental health providers, among others.
As a member of the Student Affairs, you will participate and represent the Counseling Center on student life and campus-wide committees, as appropriate and collaborate with other offices on programming and other student success efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Promote mental health and deliver mental health education on campus.
· Conduct Psychological evaluation and assessment.
· Provide individual and group counselling to students.
· Manage psychological crisis and provide emergency intervention. Develop campus intervention protocol in dealing with campus mental health emergencies.
· Develop self-help classes or online materials addressing stress management, homesickness, coping with anxiety, time management, and test-taking anxieties.
· Conduct training and preventive mental health education to the faculty, staff and students; serves as consultant to campus faculty and staff.
· Support the student development in collaboration with other offices.
· Maintain confidential student mental health records.
· Perform other tasks related to counseling or operation as assigned.
· Will to work at nights or on weekends when necessary.
Required Job Specifications
· Required qualification: Master or above degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or in other related mental health counseling degree programs.
· Doctorate degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited training program, and/or nationally recognized institutions/organizations in China preferred.
· Required experience: Licensed or license-eligible in any State in the U.S. or other countries, or licensed or license-eligible minimally at the Level Two Counselor with the National Counseling Licensing Board of the People’s Republic of China. The candidates with master degrees should have at least two-year working experience in related area.
Required Job Competencies
· Communication skills (English & Chinese): Fluent English and Chinese to provide services to English-speaking and Chinese-speaking students, staff and faculty.
· Demonstrated competencies in counseling, training, management and administration of a counseling program or department.
