Position Description                                                                      

The PE coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the university athletics programs, academic physical education and fitness classes, and other sports related activities and events; recruiting professional coaches/instructors, athletic facility management and development, scheduling, budget preparation and risk assessment. Monitor and enforce students’ physical health tests compliance with MOE requirements. S/he may be appointed as a Teaching Fellow or as a Senior Teaching Fellow commensurate with the candidate’s academic experiences and qualifications.

Duties and Responsibilities                                                                    

·       Design, plan, teach, and evaluate required and optional physical education courses and classes on meeting requirements specified by the Technion and the China’s Ministry of Education (MOE) for the bachelor’s degree.

·       Organize, monitor and enforce national students’ fitness tests compliance with the MOE requirements.

·       Encourage and engage students in sports and wellness events to improve their health, enhance their professional expertise, and develop their leadership skills.

·       Provide guidance and direction for competitive and recreational sports programs and clubs at GTIIT.

·       Provide the strategic developmental plans and professional management for the GTIIT athletic and recreational sports teams.

·       Organize and support campus-wide as well as off-campus sports activities and similar types of events.

·       Recruit and line-manage full-time and/or part-time professional coaches/instructors for the GTIIT physical education courses and various sports teams.

·       Establish management and development program for campus sports facilities.

·       Compile reports/work plans on physical education as requested by the education authorities.

·       Coordinate with the Physical Education Department of Shantou University on the physical education-related work.

·       Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Job Specifications                                                                

·       Required qualification: Bachelor degree or above from an internationally recognized university.

·       Required work experience: preferably 1-2 years’ work experience in physical education or sports related work.

Required Job Competencies                                                                

·       Proficient in English and Chinese;

·       Responsible, patient, detail-oriented;

·       Good interpersonal skill to work in an international, cross-cultural work environment.
