Position Description
The incumbent will be responsible for mentoring and advising a designated cohort of students at GTIIT. Detailed duties and responsibilities are as follows.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Fulfilling the duties of student advisor as stipulated in Article 5 of the Ministry of Education Order No. 43, such as helping students develop active and positive outlooks on life and values, assisting students in need to cope with campus life challenges and campus crisis events.
· Formulating and implementing student service plan in accordance with the annual work plan of the Department of Student Affairs;
· Helping to formulate, improve, and implement student-related university rules and regulations, and evaluating the students in charge accordingly; Working closely with the Undergraduate Study Office to assist students in addressing the academic-related issues.
· Guiding students, in collaboration with the Accommodation Office, to actively build a harmonious and civilized accommodation environment.
· Working closely with colleagues and departments on campus to professionally handle student crises.
· Giving full play of own personal strengths and interests to develop, coordinate and/or to lead extracurricular activities to enrich students campus life and help students build confidence in career development, leadership and interpersonal communications.
· Offering mentor-on-demand services to students in need, which may include mental health, physical health and interpersonal communication;
· Actively participating in training programs organized by the government and GTIIT to improve professional capabilities.
Required Job Competencies
· Education : Master degree from an internationally reputable university, preferably in psychology, social work, education or relevant subjects.
· Work Experience i Working experiences in higher education institutions preferred.
· Language Ability : Fluent in both written and spoken Chinese (Putonghua) and English.
· Chinese Communist Party membership required.
· Strong sense of responsibility and initiative, and good organizational skills.
· Good interpersonal and communication skills to work in an international, cross-cultural work environment.
· Strong team work ability and ability to work multiple tasks under pressure; Strong sense of fairness and confidentiality.
· Ability to handle emergencies and special cases.
· Available for shift duty at nights and in holidays.
