This competition extends the rules of the first session, and is also grouped by the odd and even number of the League branch serial number. Guo Yuhang and Fu Xuke, as coaches of the two teams, adjusted time and arranged tactics.

Compared with the 1st. freshman competition, this competition has made some changes. First of all, the players of the boys' team are all composed of freshmen, so as to make freshmen know more about each other, increase Freshmen's participation in University activities and enhance the cohesion between Freshmen. At the same time, the position of "MC host" was added. Zhao Chenhao, as the host, guided the rhythm of the competition, set off the atmosphere of the competition and ensured the smooth progress of the competition.

When the first quarter of the game began Li Zixuan of the odd team took the lead in and got the ball. At the beginning, both teams were in the stage of trial and running in. Under the leadership of Deng Haocheng, the odd team played some small cooperation, but the defense of the even team made the odd team create turnover again and again, and the two members from even team Lin Jiongxi and Zhang Fuding broke through the restricted area and scored on the inside. The even team won the first quarter.

In the second quarter, the odd team took the lead and played a small climax to surpass the score. However, the physical strength of the players of the odd team had problems, and they were unable to fight back under the strong lineup of the opponent. Finally, the even team ended the second quarter with a-nine-point lead.

The third quarter is girls' time, and the scores are counted in the total score. Compared with the previous tense situation of the boys' team, the atmosphere on the field was much softer. The girls in the odd team have an advantage in height, but they make too many turnovers. However, after the substitution of players, the new member Chen Taiyi broke through the defense and entered the restricted area. With her breakthrough and Chen Ziting 's whistle goal, the odd team successfully recovered 6 points and reduced the difference to 3 points.

In the fourth quarter, as in the second quarter, members from odd team with their outstanding personal strength firmly grasped their advantages in their own hands. However, the coach of the even team found that the defect of the odd team - physical strength, so he made efforts at the end of the match and pulled the score back to the same level.

The fifth quarter is the last quarter of regular time. Neither side spared any strength. The main forces of the odd team played almost full time in this quarter, and swore to get the champion. But the even team coach unexpectedly lined up the shape of twin towers. The tallest player of this year, Zhong Tingqian(196cm), was paired with Zhou Yang, who was more than 190cm in height, and set up a no-fly zone in his inner line to stop the attacks of the odd team again and again. At the last minute of the game, the odd team fell behind by two points. Deng Haocheng entered the inside line and scored successfully, equalizing the score and creating an opportunity for additional penalty. At this moment, there are only 10 seconds left. If a free throw is scored, it would bring one point lead to the odd team. Unfortunately, Deng Haocheng was too tired to make a free through. Lin Jiongxi of the even team grabbed the rebound, ran all the way and got two free throws in the last three seconds of the game. Unfortunately, he did not seize the opportunity, failed to score two free throughs, and the game entered overtime.

At the beginning of overtime, the two stars Deng Haocheng and Lin Jiongxi from both sides fought tit for tat. The stars brought the game to a climax, and the scores of both sides rose alternately. In the last 25 seconds, the odd team was three points ahead. At this moment, Xian Mingliang of the even team showed good psychological quality. Outside the three-point line, he stretched his bow and arrow, and basketball entered the net. He scored a three-point, just like desert travelers seeing oasis, which brought the dawn of victory to the even team. The even team pursued the victory and tackled the attacks from the odd team. Lin Jiongxi successfully stopped the opponent’s attack and caused a foul from opponent. At this moment, there are still the last four seconds before the end of the game. Lin Jiongxi withstood the pressure and scored two penalties, becoming the final winner of the game. As the odd team failed to score in the last attack, the even team won the victory with a score of 74-72.

I am very glad to participate in the freshman basketball game held by GT. After this intense competition, I fully realized the importance of teamwork. Our team members from odd team tried their best, implemented the tactics arranged by the coach, made good use of several advantages and strengths, and once took the lead in the later stage of the game. However, we still need to admitted that we have not done our best in terms of free throw stability. The overall free throw hit rate of the team is low, and the physical strength is inferior to the opponent. We need to focus on strengthening in future trainings. In any case, the winning spirit of the even team is admirable. They deserve this victory and we pay the highest respect to them!

I am honored to be the coach of the even team, and this hard victory has left me with impression. As a coach and a veteran, I am well aware of many obstacles to overcome on the pitch, and any point can be the fuse of negative games or emotional outbursts. But in my players, I didn't find such a sign. Although they are freshmen, they show unusual maturity and steadiness on the court. They show tenacious spirit and excellent execution. Even when the score was overtaken, there was little time left in the game and their physical strength had bottomed out, they still effectively and successfully implemented the tactics and hit a wonderful goal. Before the freshman competition, the coaches of the two teams trained the girls. In the competition, we followed the principle of friendship first and competition second. And I also know a lot of good-looking girls who play very well in basketball.
