Brief Introduction of Undergraduate Studies

CREDIT SYSTEM

The curriculum of a GTIIT undergraduate program generally requires 155-165 credit points. The courses of a curriculum consist of four categories, namely a general education course (GEC), a compulsory courses (PCC program), an elective courses (PEC) program and Technion compulsory courses (TCC). Undergraduates will be awarded  a bachelor degree (four-year) when they have earned the credit points as specified by the degree program curriculum. The curriculum of a degree program is proposed by GTIIT and the degree program coordinator and approved by the Technion Senate.

TEACHING LANGUAGE - ENGLISH

In GTIIT, all courses are taught in English with the exception of some general education courses.

ORIENTATION PROGRAM

Before the start of the formal academic semester, all freshmen will take part in a four to six week orientation program, which consists of math, physics, and English courses. The orientation program is designed to prepare students with a solid foundation in math, physics and English, as well as the communication skills needed for academic studies. All orientation programs are carried out in English.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP COURSE

Following Technion's tradition of entrepreneurship, every GTIIT undergraduate student is required to take an entrepreneurship course. The course is instructed in English.

HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCE COURSES

As a part of the requirements for obtaining a GTIIT diploma, undergraduates are required to take a total of 17 credit point humanities and social science courses. Some of these courses are taught in Chinese.
