The Chancellor’s Scholarship aims to reward students with excellent GAOKAO performance and who maintain good academic performance in the first to third academic years. This policy merely open to undergraduate students of Cohort 2021 enrolled under the framework of GAOKAO.
Levels and Values of Chancellor’s Scholarship:
First-class Scholarship, the value of which is 100,000RMB/year.
Second-class Scholarship, the value of which is 75,000RMB/year.
Third-class scholarship, the value of which is 50,000RMB/year.
Procedure and Criteria:
If your application for GTIIT is successful, you will be automatically considered for a Chancellor’s scholarship according to your GAOKAO score. The selection of the scholarship is up to the GAOKAO score, GAOKAO score ranking and number of examinees in specific provinces.
First-class Chancellor’s scholarship will be awarded to students who meet the standards below:
l For students from Guangdong Province, his/her total Gaokao score in physics category shall rank in top 18,000.
l For students from outside Guangdong, his/her total Gaokao score shall rank in top 8% of the provinces he/she took Gaokao exams.
Second-class Chancellor’s scholarship will be awarded to students who meet the standards below:
l For students from Guangdong Province, his/her total Gaokao score in physics category shall rank in top 18,000-28,000.
l For students from outside Guangdong, his/her total Gaokao score shall rank in top 13% of the provinces he/she took Gaokao exams.
Third-class Chancellor’s scholarship will be awarded to students who meet the standards below:
l For students from Guangdong Province, his/her total Gaokao score in physics category shall rank in top 28,000-38,000.
l For students from outside Guangdong, his/her total Gaokao score shall rank in top 20% of the provinces he/she took Gaokao exams.
For students from outside Guangdong, specific requirement in ranking shall be calculated based on student numbers of physics category / sciences category and local conditions, and will be released by the GTIIT Admissions Office later.
Criteria of Retaining Scholarship:
To continue receiving the scholarship, the student should meet the following conditions:
The student must comply with laws and regulations, and Student Code of Conduct, and never receive any probation or more severe sanction;
The student should have Good Academic Standing, namely in the past academic year, finishing all required courses, failing no more than one course, achieving GPA ranking in top 20% (for first-class winners), 35% (for second-class winners), and 50% (for third-class winners), in his/her program. Or s/he will be considered for a lower-class scholarship or not be awarded with scholarships.
If the student fails to meet the criteria of retaining scholarship in two consecutive years, s/he loses the qualification of Chancellor’s Scholarship in future.
Final decisions are subject to the GTIIT Scholarship Committee.
