Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology Chancellor's Scholarship Policy for Students from Hongkong, Macau and Taiwan, China

The applicants who are admitted in 2021, through both Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for students from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, and Taiwan General Scholastic Ability Test (GSAT) for students from Taiwan will be considered for this scholarship. The Chancellor’s Scholarship aims to reward students with excellent performance of JEE or GSAT Taiwan and who maintain good academic performance in the first to third academic years.


Levels and Values of Chancellor’s Scholarship:

First-class Scholarship, the value of which is 100,000 RMB/year. 

Second-class Scholarship, the value of which is 75,000 RMB/year. 

Third-class scholarship, the value of which is 50,000 RMB/year.


Procedure and Criteria:

If the student’s application for GTIIT is successful, s/he will be automatically considered for a Chancellor’s scholarship according to their entry score ranking. For applicants to be qualified for scholarships, they need to achieve at least: 

First-class scholarship

JEE applicants – 600 out of 750. 

GSAT applicants – top standard in Mathematics, AND upper standard in Science and English, PLUS a successful interview. 

Second-class scholarship

JEE applicants – 590 out of 750. 

GSAT applicants – top standard in either Science or English, AND upper standard in Mathematics, PLUS a successful interview. 

Third-class scholarship

JEE applicants – 580 out of 750. 

GSAT applicants – upper standard in Mathematics, Science and English, PLUS a successful interview. 


Criteria of Retaining Scholarship:

To continue receiving the scholarship, the student should meet the following conditions:

  1. The student must comply with      laws and regulations, and Student Code of Conduct, and never receive any probation      or more severe sanction;

  2. The student should have Good      Academic Standing, namely in the past academic year, finishing all required coursesfailing no more than one course, achieving GPA ranking in top 20% (for      first-class winners), 35% (for second-class winners), and 50% (for      third-class winners), in his/her program. Or s/he will be considered for a      lower-class scholarship or not be awarded with scholarships.

  3. If the student fails to meet      the criteria of retaining scholarship in two consecutive years, s/he loses      the qualification of Chancellor’s Scholarship in future.


Final decisions are subject to the GTIIT Scholarship Committee.
