The Mechanical Engineering (Robotics) Program at Guangdong Technion—Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) invites applications for Tenure-Track Faculty, Adjunct Faculty, Postdocs, Lab Managers, and Teacher positions in Robotics.

      Successful candidates will teach undergraduate courses, *mentor student projects, and contribute to developing course materials and laboratory experiences.

      Postdoc applicants will have the opportunity to work with advisors from either GTIIT-China and/or Technion-Haifa to conduct research and expand their research portfolio. After completing the initial term, they will be considered for a transition to a Tenure-Track Faculty position based on performance.


       
      *Responsibilities: 
      - Teaching: Deliver high-quality undergraduate courses in robotics and mechanical engineering. 
      - Course Development: Design and enhance course content and laboratory experiences. 
      - Student Mentorship: Advise and mentor students to foster a supportive learning environment. 

      - Management: Will be responsible for and coordinate all of the department's robotics-related matters.

       *Responsibilities may vary in accordance with the position applied for.

       

      Qualifications: 
      - Education: Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a closely related discipline as stated above. 
      - Experience: Prior teaching experience in related courses is required. Industrial experience is a strong advantage. 
      - Language: Proficiency in English is mandatory (all courses are taught in English).

      Description:

      Technion  – Israel Institute of Technology manages the academics of a new university established in Shantou City, Guangdong Province, China http://www.gtiit.edu.cn/en.

       

      GTIIT follows the academic model of the Technion in Haifa, Israel. It is dedicated to high quality research and education in science and technology. Courses are taught in English.

      GTIIT has established undergraduate programs in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology & Food Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering and Mathematics with Computer Science.

      The undergraduate education program in Mechanical Engineering and Robotics is launched in October 2021. It includes tracks for Robotics, Mechanics of Materials/Manufacturing and Energy. A graduate program in these areas will also be offered in coordination with the Technion's Graduate School.

      GTIIT is also establishing Research Centers for Robotics, Science & Engineering  in Health and Medicine and Sustainable World. Its members are expected to develop vigorous research programs and commit to a high-level of teaching.

      Tenure-track faculty positions at all ranks are now available for exceptional candidates, who will be appointed as members of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics teaching program and also members of one of the Research Centers in the following areas:

      ·           Robotics, mechatronics, dynamics and control;

      ·           Solid mechanics, bio- and opto-mechanics;

      ·           Micro and nano-technology;

      ·           Computational fluid and solid mechanics;

      ·           Energy, thermofluids, combustion, propulsion technology;

      ·           Mechanical design and CAD, Additive manufacturing and 3-D printing.

       

      Members of the Research Centers are expected to initiate and conduct intensive state-of-the-art research, as well as to supervise graduate students and teach undergraduate/graduate courses.

      GTIIT offers generous start-up packages, modern research infrastructure and technical   assistance by qualified personnel. Recruited faculty members are offered compensation of expenses, convenient housing and family care facilities in the beautiful and newly constructed campus.

      Established research leaders in their fields will be offered extended start-up packages.


      Several fixed-term teaching (non-research) positions are available in areas of the undergraduate teaching program.
