Yesterday, Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology(GTIIT) Open Day "Hello GTIIT, Hello World" was held on campus with great success. Students and their parents from different provinces gathered in the diverse, open and beautiful GTIIT campus, and experienced the "unlimited" life of studying STEM at GTIIT.
Over 1000 students and their parents visited GTIIT campus and nearly 800,000 people joined the Open Day virtually through livestreaming. Each in person and virtual visitor was given a glimpse of GTIIT's international campus life and dynamic atmosphere.
Prof. Aaron Ciechanover, 2004 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry and Special Envoy of the Technion President to GTIIT gave an online speech to open a day filled with activities centred on learning about studying at GTIIT.
Prof. Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT gave a lecture titled "Study STEM in an Unlimited Way", highlighting the unique talent training mode of GTIIT. As the China campus of Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, GTIIT has fully introduced the education resources of the Technion. With its emphasis on foundation, problem-driven teaching, research orientation and innovation, it helps students discover their "seeds of innovation" and keep pushing their limits.
Even more, GTIIT students are provided with high-level international academic conferences and lectures, enabling them to connect with the top scientists and see the wider world "on the shoulders of giants". At the Open Day, visitors also shared the same experience. Prof. Guan Yi, the international virology expert and the Canada Gairder Award Laureate gave the lecture "Virus and the Future of Human-being".
With a solid foundation, and strong skills in research and innovation processes, GTIIT graduates have been accepted to and won recognition from prestigious universities, research institutes and international companies.
