The 2025 undergraduate admissions have concluded successfully. Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) has enrolled 678 outstanding students from 16 provinces/municipalities across China. This milestone supports the university’s strategic goal of surpassing 2,000 total enrolled students this academic year. Despite a 20% year-on-year increase in enrollment quotas, GTIIT has achieved record-breaking quality in multiple core metrics. These results underscore the institute’s academic excellence and rising influence.

Rise in Scale and Quality, with Top Students Gathered in Clusters

This year, GTIIT admitted 378 outstanding students in Guangdong Province, an increase of 103 over last year’s enrollment plan, achieving a 100% completion rate. While steadily expanding in scale, GTIIT also improved the quality of student intake: the highest admission score reached 659 (provincial rank: 2,189), setting a new record for the highest score in its Guangdong admissions history; the average admission score exceeded the special control line for physics by 27 points, with an increase in high-scoring candidates and an English average score surpassing 120.

In terms of regional distribution, the proportion of students from the Pearl River Delta region continued to rise, exceeding 90% for the first time—a 7% increase over last year. The top four cities in enrollment numbers were Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Dongguan, and Shantou, accounting for 84% of total admissions, demonstrating a clear clustering effect of high-quality students.

The admitted students mainly came from key high schools across the province, including TungWah Senior High School of Dongguan City, Shenzhen High School of Science, Shantou Chaoyang Experimental School, Shenzhen No. 2 Senior High School, Guangzhou Zhixin High School, Shenzhen OCT High School, Shenzhen Experimental School, Shenzhen Senior High School, Shenzhen High School affiliated to Renmin University of China, Shantou No. 1 High School, and Shantou Jinshan Middle School.

Precise Planning Ensures Consistently Leading Admission Quality

In 2025, GTIIT admitted 300 outstanding students from 15 provinces (municipalities) across the country, representing a 10% increase in enrollment compared to the previous year. All admitted candidates exceeded the special control line in their respective provinces (municipalities), maintaining high and stable admission quality. The average admission score was 56 points above the respective provincial (municipal) special control line, with high-scoring candidates (600 points or above) accounting for 30%—a significant increase—while nearly 70% of students achieved English scores of 120 or above.

Notably, the highest admission scores in six provinces (municipalities)—Beijing, Jiangsu, Hebei, Fujian, Jiangxi, and Sichuan—set new historical records. In nine provinces (municipalities), the highest scores reached the same batch level as domestic 985 universities. In key regions such as Beijing and the Yangtze River Delta, student performance generally matched the same batch level as 211 or higher-tier universities, fully demonstrating GTIIT’s strong nationwide appeal.

In terms of student origins, out-of-Guangdong candidates primarily came from top high schools across various provinces (municipalities), including: The High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China, Tsinghua University High School, Beijing No. 4 High School, Suzhou High School of Jiangsu Province, Jiangsu Zhenze High School, Jiangsu Province Changshu High School, Wuxi No.1 Senior High School, Zhenjiang High School of Jiangsu Province, High School Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai Qibao High School, Shanghai Gezhi High School, Hangzhou Xuejun High School (Haichuangyuan Campus), Hangzhou No. 2 High School (Binjiang Campus), NingBo YinZhou High School, Shandong Experimental High School, Qingdao Academy, Weifang No.1 Middle School, Shengli No.1 Middle School of Dongying, Xiamen University Affiliated Keji High School, Xiamen Foreign Language School, Xiamen Shuangshi Middle School, Fuzhou No.4 High School, Quanzhou No.7 Middle School, Shijiazhuang No. 1 High School, Shijiazhuang No. 2 Middle School, The Shiyan School Attached to Shijiazhuang No. 2 Middle School, Guiyang No.1 High School, Zhengzhou Foreign Language School, Henan Experimental High School, Zhengzhou No.1 Middle School, No.4 High School of Xiangyang, Wuhan Wugang No.3 High School, NO.1 Middle School affiliated to Central China Normal University, Changsha No. 1 High School, The High School Affiliated to Hunan Normal University, Nanchang Foreign Language School, Nanchang No. 2 High School, Chengdu Shude High School, Chengdu Shishi High School, Chongqing Nankai Secondary School, Chongqing No. 8 High School, Hefei No. 168 High School, Hefei No. 1 High School, and Hefei No. 8 High School.

Outstanding Comprehensive Development and Distinctive Subject Specialties

Beyond academic performance, this year's freshmen have demonstrated remarkable advantages in both specialized disciplines and comprehensive development. In terms of subject specialties, a total of 19 students have secured provincial-level or higher awards in the five major academic Olympiads or national-level and above accolades in scientific innovation competitions, including mathematics, chemistry, informatics, biology, physics, and robotics, highlighting their outstanding academic potential and innovative capabilities.

From the perspective of comprehensive development, the diverse talents of the new student cohort are particularly striking. Records of "special abilities" reveal expertise across multiple fields: in the arts, many have attained Grade 10 certifications in instruments such as piano, jazz drums, bamboo flute, and guzheng, as well as qualifications in Chinese dance, soft-tip calligraphy, sketching, and comic art; in sports and practical engagement, achievements range from a national championship in synchronized roller skating to leadership roles such as principal trombonist in the school orchestra and president of the football club; in technology, skills like robotics programming, drone operation, Python coding, and radio direction-finding reflect a fusion of innovative thinking and hands-on ability. Additionally, emerging talents such as speedcubing and 3D modeling further underscore their multifaceted innovative literacy, vividly exemplifying the balanced development of the students.

Growing Institutional Influence and Prominent Advantages in International Education

The 2025 admissions have demonstrated three key highlights: First, the enrollment scale has steadily expanded, with a 23% year-on-year increase in admission quotas. Second, the quality of admitted students continues to improve, with all enrolled candidates surpassing the special control line in their respective provinces (municipalities). Third, the number of high-scoring students (600 points or above) exceeded 100, setting new historical records for the highest admission scores in seven provinces (municipalities), including Guangdong.

As a high-level science and engineering university with distinct international characteristics, GTIIT has seen continuous growth in academic strength and social recognition in recent years. Despite the impact of this year's global situation on Sino-foreign cooperative institutions—particularly on GTIIT's admissions—we still attracted a large number of outstanding students, thanks to the solid disciplinary development, high-quality teaching resources, and internationalized education model.

Moving forward, GTIIT will further optimize its enrollment structure, deepen educational and teaching reforms, and remain committed to cultivating interdisciplinary science and engineering talents with global vision and innovative capabilities. This effort will provide robust talent support for the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and national scientific and technological innovation.

Dream it. Do it.
