Recently, GTIIT Youth League Committee, in collaboration with multiple sides, organized three remarkable events for faculty and students—a life-saving drowning prevention campaign, an inspiring movie screening, and a vibrant cultural event featuring intangible heritage. With action as their brush and responsibility as their ink, GTIIT youth are writing their chapter of the new era in diverse ways.

Inspiring movie screening

Marking the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, the GTIIT Youth League Committee and Student Party Branch led 30 faculty and students to the film Dead to Rights, a poignant journey through national memory.

Set during the 1937 Nanjing Massacre, the film traces ordinary civilians’ transformation from survival to resistance. Hiding in a photo studio, they accidentally found pictures of Japanese atrocities and risked their lives to send the evidence out to expose the truth, revealing unyielding courage in Chinese people’s blood during darkest hour.

"Heroes aren’t just soldiers on battlefields, but every Chinese who clings to conscience," a student reflected. This cinematic experience deepened their patriotism, fueling resolve to contribute to the nation’s future.

Practical drowning prevention campaign

A drowning prevention campaign co-hosted by GTIIT Youth League Committee was recently held at the Sunshine Cultural Exchange Center. It drew over 30 community residents (including children), infusing youthful energy into local safety awareness.

At the site, GTIIT Student Union members innovated with "scenario roleplay + hands-on drills", staging three original skits to expose the dangers of reckless rescue attempts. They then transformed into "safety coaches," demonstrating life jacket fitting, rescue rope techniques, and even crafting makeshift flotation devices from PET bottles and backpacks.

The session closed with participants chanting safety mantras. Some parents praised: "This fun, practical workshop truly taught kids self-protection."

Printing event blending with orientation

Blending intangible heritage with orientation, the GTIIT Youth League Committee hosted a unique botanical printing event for freshmen amid the enriching preparatory semester.

At the workshop, flowers and leaves found new life under creative hands. Arranged thoughtfully on eco-bags, their veins and hues left natural imprints, carrying wishes for the upcoming university life and a cultural highlight for the new semester.

These diverse initiatives are more than cultural carriers—they’re transformative practices shaping character and action. GTIIT will keep fostering such platforms, uniting knowledge and values in harmony.
