On the evening of February 26th, a special activity for the Lantern Festival was held in Xiao Gongyuan.
Invited by the Asia Youth Games executive committee, GTIIT's faculty and family members participated in the party to experience the traditional activities in Lantern Festival, such as riddle guessing and lion dancing.
The international faculty of GTIIT gained a deeper understanding of the Asian Youth Games during the interaction, and immersed themselves into the atmosphere of welcoming this sports event.
Children from GTIIT-Affiliated International School performed Chinese Kongfu to cheer for the Asia Youth Games.
Tino, one of the performers said that he and his companions had prepared for the show for about three weeks. "I think it's very interesting to learn Chinese kongfu, and I'm very satisfied with my performance tonight!"
Dr. Koby Gvill said it was his first time to experience such a traditional Lantern Festival in China. "I really enjoy the wonderful performance. The folk culture of Chinese traditional festivals is very attractive." Dr. Koby Gvill, whose child also performed on the show, said, "My child was happy to be part of the show. It was a very special experience for him."
This unique feast not only provided a chance to GTIIT's international faculty and students to experience the traditional Chinese festival, but also made them participate in the cheering for the Asian Youth Games. Let’s look forward to the wonderful sports event together.
