During the Spring Festival of the Year of Tiger, Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) has prepared a variety of activities for students and teachers to celebrate the new year in the warm campus.

Celebrate the Chinese New Year together

Hot pot means prosperity while fish is a symbol of auspiciousness. In the cheerful music, the GTIIT New Year's Eve dinner began. The teachers and students took the microphone from the host and presented their most sincere New Year wishes.

Prof. David Gershoni, Vice Chancellor of GTIIT delivered a speech. "I am so excited to be here with you to celebrate the Chinese Year! The year 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Israel. Looking back on the path we have travelled and forward to the journey that lies ahead, I hope that in the New Year, teachers and students can work together to create a bright future!"

Customized Pillows Bring the Warmth to You

In order to make the students stay on campus have a warm Spring Festival, GTIIT has prepared a warm gift - GT customized pillow. Pillows in two styles with the tiger pattern conveyed the best wishes that students can have a warm and happy new year.

DIY Flowers for the New Year

Placing flowers in the house is one of the customs to welcome the Spring Festival, thus, DIY flowers are especially meaningful. In order to enrich the holiday life of teachers and students, the florist was invited to hold a flower salon at the campus.

The florist explained the characteristics, maintenance of flowers and the principles of floral design to the students. She showed them how to arrange the composition considering the density, the center and the surroundings, the scattered height, and the “tic-tac-toe” shape to make the work clear and full of vitality.

Under the guidance of the florist, the students created wonderful works using fern leaves, umbrella plants, prairie gentians, carnations, small daisies, Chinese roses and other flowers, feeling the atmosphere of the Spring Festival in the sea of flowers.

Wish You a Happy New Year

and the Prosperous Future
