GTIIT

The Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT), located in the city of Shantou, Guangdong province, is a Sino-foreign cooperative educational institution established by Shantou University (STU) and the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (the Technion). The Ministry of Education approved GTIIT's formal establishment on December 5, 2016. It welcomed its first cohort in 2017. It is the first Sino-foreign cooperative university with independent legal entity to introduce Israel's high-quality higher education resources in China. Its academic program is strictly based on the Technion program. It is also a representative project of cooperation between China and Israel in the field of education.

GTIIT is following the spirit of the Technion, a leading international university located in Haifa, Israel, by adopting its teaching, research and innovation modes. The vision of GTIIT is to become a world-class international university, conducting cutting-edge research in the fields of science and technology. This research will boost entrepreneurship and technology transfer, and foster a high-tech industrial ecosystem in Shantou and Guangdong Province. In 2018, GTIIT was successfully included in the Guangdong Provincial High-level University Construction Plan, making our university one of the youngest universities among the approved units.
