International education fair

PostTime:3/15/2022

Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) has published its annual report on Career and Employability of the Class of 2021 recently, showing that near 80% of graduates have been accepted by top overseas universities. There is also good news from Cohort 2018. The shining performance of GTIIT students has attracted the attention of world-renowned universities.

On March 12, GTIIT Career Competencies Center partnered with AUCA to hold the education fair providing information and resources on further overseas study for students. GTIIT students can directly communicate with admission officers from the eight participating universities (Northeastern University, University of Southern California, the Ohio State University, Kent State University, Bocconi University, University of Rochester, the University of Alabama, and Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti) to better understand the admission requirements and opportunities for overseas postgraduate programs.

The roundtable forum and sharing, which took place in the GTIIT Auditorium, was hosted by Dr. Chen Fen from the Career Competencies Center.

Admissions officers answered questions from students around the two most-discussed topics: 1) how to prepare the applications for postgraduate programs abroad? How do the admission officers check the application documents? 2) Current situation and prospects of employment for students who study abroad. Then, teachers from ETS shared the latest news of the TOEFL and GRE tests.

Xing Jiani, a sophomore majoring in Biotechnology and Food Engineering participating in the event, said that she learned a lot about applying further studies overseas at today’s event and this would assist her to prepare well in advance. “There are also universities and majors that I am interested in, so it is quite rewarding.”

Dr. Chen Fen pointed out that by communicating with admission officers face to face, students can reduce the information gap while applying overseas studies and avoid missing opportunities. Many officers also shared programs with students targeting their situation, which was really helpful for graduating students.
