Audience Service Volunteers refer to those who, after unified recruitment and training, provide volunteer services at designated times and places during the formal operation stage of the Asian Youth Games. The service areas mainly include concierge reception, arrival and departure services, language services, transportation guidance, medical and health, spectator services, competition organization support, competition venue operation support, athlete resident operation support, news operation support, cultural activity support, etc.

Recruiting content

(1) Volunteer service time

The service time is generally 15 days before the Asian Youth Games to 15 days after the Games and the service duration is around one month (some positions are different). The daily service time is generally not more than 8 hours. Confirmation to participate in the whole process is required before your registration.

(2) Volunteer service locations

Service locations are mainly in competition venues, athletes' villages, media centres, headquarters hotels, airports, stations and other places.

Recruitment conditions

(1) Volunteer for the Asian Youth Games;

(2) Born before December 20, 2004 (inclusive), in good health;

(3) Abide by the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China;

(4) Be able to participate in pre-competition training and related activities;

(5) Be able to undertake the corresponding job responsibilities during the Games, and provide full service at the time and position arranged by the Executive Committee;

(6) Applicants whose native language is Chinese should have basic foreign language communication skills, and applicants whose native language is not Chinese should have basic Chinese communication skills;

(7) Professional knowledge and skills necessary for volunteer service positions;

Recruiting process

1. Registration channels

The volunteers will be registered individually. Participants can register through the Asian Youth Games Volunteer Management System (yqhe.izyz.org) to sign up. Only by registering through the volunteer management system platform can the registration be considered successful. The specific steps are as follows:

The 3rd Asian Youth Games Shantou Executive Committee and its authorized or entrusted organizations will conduct qualification examination and selection for the applicants.

3. Admission Notice

Successful applicants will be notified by the Shantou Executive Committee of the Asian Youth Association.

Rights and Obligations of Volunteers

i. Rights

(1) Understand the volunteer policy of the Asian Youth Games;

(2) Express your willingness to work before the position is determined;   

(3) Obtain the necessary job security;

(4) Safeguard own legitimate rights and interests;

(5) Be entitled to join in the Volunteer Campaign;

(6) Put forward opinions and suggestions on the volunteer work;

(7) Apply to withdraw from volunteer service;

ii. Obligations

(1) Abide by the rules and regulations of the host city and the Olympic Council of Asia, and spread the knowledge and philosophy of of the Asian Youth Games;

(2) Comply with the policies and rules of the Executive Committee;

(3) Submit relevant materials timely as required by the Executive Committee;

(4) Fulfill the volunteer service commitment signed by the person;

(5) Complete the corresponding training and assessment;

(6) Obey the command and deployment of the Executive Committee, and conscientiously complete the tasks of volunteer service;

(7) Obey the management of the team during the volunteer service;

Volunteer guarantee incentives

i. Job guarantees

(1) Preparation and issuance of work certificates;

(2) Provide uniform clothing during work;

(3) Provide working meals and drinks during work;

(4) Provide transportation support during work;

(5) Provide personal accident insurance during work;

ii. Commendations and incentives

(1) Issuance of AYAW volunteer service certificates and badges;

(2) Select individuals, teams and working institutions of outstanding volunteers and award honorary titles;

(3) According to the volunteer service duration and service effect, volunteers can receive souvenirs of the Asian Youth Games.

(4) For volunteers who do not fulfil their obligations, the Executive Committee will cancel their qualifications as volunteers of the Asian Youth Games in accordance with relevant regulations;

(5) The Executive Committee reserves the right to prosecute and pursue responsibility for volunteers who do not comply with laws and regulations and have violated the law.

The emblem combines elements with the Chinese character 'Shan' and the sun logo of the OCA, presenting the sport's image in the bright sunshine, and showing the vigorous spirit of Asian youth.

The mascot is named "Jinfengwa" and is inspired by Shantou's city flower, the Jinfeng flower, and integrates local cultural elements.

The slogan of the Shantou Asian Youth Games is "Surging Waves Dynamic Youth", which fully demonstrates the youthful vitality and vigorous of young people across Asia, highlighting the theme elements of the Asian Youth Games, and showing the passion of the Asian Youth Games.

The volunteer logo is composed of two main elements - loving heart and person, expressing the sincerity and warm-heartedness of volunteers to actively participate and contribute to the Games.

The slogan of the Shantou Asian Youth Games Volunteers is "Passion in Action", which means that volunteers from various sectors can gather together because of their volunteer dreams, advocating the concept of "making volunteer service as a fashion" and reflecting the common voice of the Asian Youth Games volunteers.
