After the college entrance examination, many students are about to start a new journey. You may be excited for the next chapter of your life, or confused about the unknown future.

Don't worry. There is such a group of people at GTIIT who are looking forward to your coming, to explore the unknown and make progress together. They are the peer mentors (PMs) for cohort 2022.

Since 2018, Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology has implemented the Peer Mentor Program, which actively responds to the various needs of the freshmen in the admission stage. Through the experience and resources sharing of the outstanding senior students, it helps freshmen to get through the adaptation period as soon as possible and integrate into college life smoothly. Since the implementation of the project, PMs have become a bridge between the university and freshmen, gaining great recognition and support from them. PMs also improve their comprehensive abilities and enrich their extracurricular experience.

Five functions of the PM program:

- Establish a long-term and stable information exchange mechanism for students;

- Establish a practice-oriented leadership training mechanism;

- Create a warm and friendly campus atmosphere to enhance students' sense of belonging to GTIIT;

- PMs provide care, guidance, advice and support to facilitate students' personal growth and development;

- Through effective communication between PM and team members, to timely understand the real needs of students and provide effective help.

Who are peer mentors？

They are:

A treehole for you to speak your mind;

A bright lamp at night to lead your way;

A good mate with you to have fun.

Hello, students of cohort 2022! The teaching system of GTIIT has a big difference with what you have in high school, so our university sets the PM program to provide you with a smooth transition. In the following months, I’ll lead you through several activities to help you break the ice, and offer you some guidance and advice about the life and study at GTIIT. Some of you can’t wait to have a try, right? Hope that during this program you can lay a solid foundation for the following study, and also make some friends here.
