On August 8, Prof. Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Secretary of General Party Branch Committee of Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, delivered an introductory lecture for the 2022 cohort.

Youth is the most active and vital force in society. The hope of a country and the future of a nation lie in the hands of its young generation. Based on the world development trajectory and national situation, science, technology and innovation are playing an increasingly important role in driving economic development. “To study science and technology programs is to adapt to the trend of the times.” Prof. Lin called on the freshmen to lay a solid foundation of the discipline, care about their family and country, and aspire to build our country.

University is the solid ground for knowledge and innovation. In the lecture, students reviewed the founding history and development of Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, and learned about GTIIT in the aspects of characteristics, talent training, faculty team, scientific research and innovation. Students from different programs are encouraged to learn from each other and exchange ideas, cultivate the ability of interdisciplinary learning, and grow into versatile innovative talents.

As students of the only Sino-foreign cooperative university of science and engineering in China, every GTIIT student should practice the spirit of "Dream it. Do it.", make GTIIT a better place with their efforts, and contribute to national development and social progress.

Students have benefited from the first lecture. They expressed their willingness to cherish the teaching and research resources of GTIIT, study hard to pursue their dreams and contribute to the society.
