On August 27, GTIIT freshman basketball game kicked off at the basketball court of the North Campus of Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. Players from two teams fought hard and enhanced their friendship as well as teamwork in the game. After the intense four-period competition, the "even team" won the final victory.

Following the rules of the previous game, players were divided into the "odd team" and the "even team" a week before the competition. They also attended a training session on safety and rules to ensure the delivery of a safe and splendid match.

The fierce rivalry reflected the good tactics laid out by team captains. Sweat and passion, momentum and ambition. Everyone at the scene could feel the adrenaline flooding in the blood.

"We've selected players of the starting line-up and substitutes in the time between team formation and game, as well as organized tactical and defensive drills. The victory would not have been possible without our players' strong fundamentals. Everyone did a great job!" said Liu Yukai, the captain of the "even team". His teammates believe that good teamwork was also a factor in their championship.

Guo, a freshman, said that the match was very formal and the referee was professional. The intense match made him stressed and excited. "Before I came to GTIIT, I didn't experience such professional competitions. This match impressed me. I hope there will be more competitions of this type in the future," said another freshman after the match.

"With vigor and vitality, they all played splendidly!" A spectator from the Class of 2025, who also attended the freshman basketball game last year, praised the performance of both teams.

It's not winning that matters, but friendship. The players' hard work, the fairness and professionalism of the referees, the conscientiousness of the staff, as well as the cheering of the spectators, all contributed to a fantastic basketball game for the new students. The game also provided a chance for students to make friends with like-minded people and to communicate with students from different programs.
