On October 7, the two-week military training of Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) came to a successful conclusion. This military training has received strong support from the leaders of Shantou Garrison and the People's Armed Forces Department of Jinping District. Cohort 2021 is divided into seven companies. Under the leadership of the instructors, they learn military knowledge, practice military skills, enhance national defense awareness, and show their demeanor as GTIIT students.

PART 01

Military training parade and award ceremony

"Let us take Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as a guide, take contemporary Chinese soldiers as a model, take our own actions, and set the stage with concrete action to welcome the 20th CPC National Congress!" At the military training parade and award ceremony, Prof. Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT, expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Shantou Garrison, the People's Armed Forces Department of Jinping District, all the instructors and teachers who took part in this event, and congratulated to the companies and individuals who received the commendation.

With various military training performances, GTIIT students showed their achievement of the two-week training to the audience. In this military training, a total of seven instructors, two companies, and 27 students were commended.

Fruitful Results

Hong Xianzhu:

The two-week military training is over. There have been ups and downs, and I gradually realize that this is a rare experience in life. We learned a lot of new skills and met a group of instructors who were serious in training and lovely at rest. I will definitely remember what I’ve learned and welcome the future with a better me. I believe this difficult and happy time will accompany me through more difficulties!

Deng Ruotian:

Compared with ordinary life, military training is more difficult since it is often accompanied by exhausting training. But having gone through adversity in youth, I would better understand that life is not easy and will cherish what I have. In the days ahead, I will abandon all unrealistic fantasies and be more down-to-earth.

Wei Kaifu: 

I've taken part in several military trainings since junior high school. Although they are pretty much the same every time, the experiences are completely different. Before I came to GTIIT, the training was suffering; but I started to enjoy it this time. During the training, we kept making progresses and gain new harvests every day. I also learned something unusual in daily life, such as the usage of munitions. It's an honor to take part in this military training and it has benefited me a lot.

Liu Xiaoyang:

The fourteen-day military training has sharpened my mind and become more mature. By learning basic military skills such as combat, operation of light weapons, usage of gas masks, hygiene and rescue, etc., I have enriched my insights and mastered the fundamentals. In the spare time, I also got along well with the instructors who seemed "fierce" in training but were humorous during break time. Military training is hard but enjoyable.
