Today, the construction acceptance meeting of Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (South Campus) construction project (Phase I), which includes the student living area and the international school, was successfully completed.

Prof. Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT; Yigal Cohen, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Director General of GTIIT; and heads of various departments of GTIIT attended the event. The event was hosted by Shantou Municipal Government Investment Project Agent Construction Management Center.

Yigal Cohen, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Director General of GTIIT, delivered a speech on behalf of the University. He expressed his thanks to the relevant departments of the province and city, for their support to the construction of the South Campus. He said that the construction acceptance is one of the important signs of Phase I, which has laid a good foundation for the development of GTIIT. The University will manage the South Campus well, and hope that the relevant departments will continue to promote the construction of the following phase with high standards and strict requirements, so as to provide students with better learning and living environment.

At the meeting, the construction, survey, design, and supervision units respectively introduced the performance of the project contract and the implementation of laws, regulations and compulsory standards in each part of the project construction. The acceptance team reviewed the project archives, conducted on-site inspection of project quality, and finally agreed to the completion acceptance and delivery.

Phase I is living and sports area. The architectural shape of the stadium adopts the design technique of gradient skin, pursuing a rich diversity of order, dynamism and change, with a cool sense of science and technology. The building uses dark gray as its color tone, supplemented by white blocks, and the surface is inlaid with gradual orange-red cloud pieces, like the sunrise and rosy clouds, giving people a strong visual impact and reflecting the vigor and vitality of the modern campus.

The students' living area is fully functional. In addition to the high-quality dining and accommodation environment, it also provides students with reading space, study room and multi-functional room on the open floor of each dormitory building. Each floor has an open kitchen and rest space, as well as a beautiful green courtyard in the middle of the living area, aiming to provide a comfortable and convenient living environment for students.

PhaseⅡ of the construction project of GTIIT’s South Campus, that is, the core science and education area as well as the office area, is also in full swing. The main building has been topped off.
