Recently, the series of activities of the 2022 China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair (CIEF) continue to be carried out in Guangzhou. Technology achievements of Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) were showcased at the fair through roadshows. GTEC led a GTIIT delegation to conduct in-depth communication with the local government, enterprises, and institutions, and discussed cooperation in industry-university-research integration and technology transformation.

"2022 CIEF - Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology Roadshow @Tianhe Incubation Base Special Event" is organized by the Greater Bay Area Science and Technology Innovation Service Center, Guangzhou (International) Technology Achievement Transformation Tianhe Base, GTIIT, China-Israel Jizhi (Guangzhou) Technology Co., Ltd. and South China New Materials Innovation Park Co., Ltd.

Liang Gaofeng, Second-level Inspector of the Innovation and Development Department of Guangzhou Association for Science and Technology; Song Aiping, Director of Tianhe District Bureau of Science, Technology, Industry, and Information Technology; Michael Lv, Director of GTIIT Technology Entrepreneurship Center (GTEC); Prof. Daniel Tan, Deputy Head of GTIIT Materials Science and Technology (MSE); MSE Professor Elissaios Stavrou and his team; GTIIT Chemical Engineering (ChE) Associate Professor Wang Yan; ChE Associate Professor Gao Xi; Dr. Sami Ullah Dar of GTIIT Chemistry Program; GTIIT Laboratory Managers Xie Hongbo, Zhang Qian; GTEC Assistant Chen Jinlin, and a number of technology companies, investors, representatives of financing institutions in Guangdong participated in the event.

During the event, Michael Lv introduced GTIIT characteristics and achievements to the participants. He shared that GTIIT is the first Sino-foreign cooperative university with an independent legal personality that introduces high-quality higher education resources from Israel. It is a research-oriented university that cultivates outstanding engineers and STEM talents with innovation ability, global vision, and humanistic quality.

Liang Gaofeng delivered a speech at the meeting. He believes that this event has implemented the country's emphasis on "opening up new areas and new arenas in development and steadily fostering new growth drivers and new strengths" and will help promote the development of industrial chains, supply chains, innovation chains, and capital chains. Deep integration will facilitate the transformation and implementation of more achievements and projects, and help the innovation and development of enterprises.

Song Aiping pointed out that Tianhe District is in the leading position of national economic and technological innovation, gathering a quarter of universities in Guangdong Province. It ranks in the top 6 in the country with a GDP of 601.2 billion RMB in 2021. GTIIT has unique scientific research advantages and international characteristics. She hoped that this event can promote more close cooperation with GTIIT in technological innovation and industrial transformation.

At the project roadshow, GTIIT showcased 6 projects, covering new materials, biomedicine, new energy and other fields. Project leaders introduced the key technologies, core advantages, R&D team, application fields, and prospects of the projects, which aroused enthusiastic responses from representatives of various enterprises and institutions. The two sides conducted in-depth communication.

GTIIT team then visited the South China New Materials Innovation Park of Guangzhou (International) Science and Technology Achievement Transformation Tianhe Base. The two sides will continue to promote more cooperation in multiple fields.
