Industry Collaboration is the right thing and the route we must take to build a high-level university.

Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) has always attached great importance to industry collaboration, adhering to the ideas of intellectual property protection and serving the society with science and technology in Technion, focusing on building key high-level universities, serving local economic and social development as an entry point, and taking campuses integration, linked development and industry collaboration as a junction. It gives a full play to the scientific research features of GTIIT and the advantages of Israel's advanced technological resources, and promotes technological innovation to serve the industry and benefit society.

In the second half of 2022, GTIIT’s industry collaboration is quite fruitful.

Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) and China-Israel Changzhou Innovation Park (CICP) signed a memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation. Changzhou is one of the central cities in the Yangtze River Delta region, with a GDP of 880.8 billion yuan in 2021, ranking 16th among national innovative cities and 16th among China's advanced manufacturing cities. CICP is the first innovation demonstration park signed by the Chinese and Israeli governments, and it is a benchmark project in the field of economic cooperation between the two countries.

The Economic and Trade Representative Office of Jiangsu Province in Israel visited the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology and its technology achievement transformation company T3. The Jiangsu Provincial Representative Office in Israel is located in Tel Aviv. It is an economic and trade unit jointly established by the Department of Commerce of Jiangsu Province, Changzhou Government, and Wujin National High-tech Industrial Development Zone; and operated by CICP. Prof. Moris Eisen, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs of GTIIT; Dr. Asi Cohen Dotan, head of Research, Promotion Unit of Technion; and Dr. Avital Levinzon, head of Marketing at GTIIT Israel, introduced the general information of Technion and GTIIT to the guests and also agreed to continue to promote various cooperation matters between GTIIT and CICP.

Prof. Daniel Tan, Dr. Song Guanghui and Wu Xudong from GTIIT, as inventors, were granted the Chinese invention patent and Japanese invention patent for "Method for Preparing Modified Polypropylene Film". Prof. Qi Yuanshen and Xie Hongbo from GTIIT, as the inventors, were granted a Chinese utility model patent for "a metal sheet battery system".

Associate Professor Li Cheng from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Escope Tech Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement on blood flow velocity measurement based on real-time digital subtraction angiography. Founded in 2017, Escope Tech is a high-tech enterprise founded by a team returning from Europe and the United States. Based on high-precision simulation technology, machine vision technology, and medical data structuring technology, the company strives to create a physical + functional multi-dimensional medical image analysis system based on medical images. So far, it has completed the financing of hundreds of millions of RMB, and it is a quasi-unicorn enterprise in the industry.

GTIIT Electron Microscopy Center signed a cooperation agreement with Shantou Ultrasonic Display Technology Co., Ltd. on the microscopic characterization and structural analysis of new products. Ultrasonic Display is the core business unit of Guangdong Goworld Lamination Plant Co., Ltd. (stock code: 000823.sz), a national high-tech enterprise specializing in the research, development, production and sales of high-end touch devices and liquid crystal display devices. GTIIT Electron Microscopy Center is a comprehensive open platform that integrates analysis and testing services, basic research and applied research across fields and disciplines. It is also one of the most high-end electron microscope analysis platforms in Guangdong Province. The center can use various electron microscopy methods to study the relationship between the microstructure (up to the atomic scale), chemical composition and properties of substances, and provide a scientific basis for the optimization and application of materials, covering fields of material science, condensed matter physics, Energy, chemistry, biology, etc.

GTIIT Electromechanical Design Center signed a cooperation agreement with Newattek (Shanghai) Technology Ltd. on the development of battery pack bridges. The core team of Newattek is composed of top professional racing teams and experts from world-class OEMs and battery manufacturers. Its business covers racing cars, high-performance cars, large drones, maritime applications, high-performance consumer products, etc. GTIIT Electromechanical Design Center provides power electronics EMC modeling and design, DC-DC, DC-AC power supply development, pulse power supply development, power electronics technology, and other technical services to the society; which can be widely used in electromagnetic compatibility equipment, solar converter, electric automotive electric drive system, on-board charger, special power supply, controllable electronic load, energy storage equipment, etc.

On behalf of GTIIT, Guangdong-Technion Technology and Entrepreneurship Center (GTEC)  signed a training project worth nearly 2 million yuan with the Shantou Bureau of Industry and Information Technology on Fine Chemical Talent Training. Shantou City has a complete industrial cluster of fine chemicals such as industrial plastics and additives, surfactants and electronic chemicals, and has derived multiple pillar industries such as toy manufacturing, clothing and coatings. This training focuses on cultivating a group of excellent technical managers and engineers in the professional, modern and international fine chemical industry, so as to escort the development of “Establish the City with Industry, Strengthen the City with Industry”. The training also contributed to the cooperation intention of several companies.

Associate Professor He Xuezhong from the Department of Chemical Engineering and CIMC Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd. signed a ten-million-level cooperation agreement on marine membrane carbon capture devices and membrane technology research and development. Headquartered in Shenzhen, China, CIMC is a world-leading supplier of logistics equipment and energy equipment. Its business covers more than 100 countries and regions around the world, with sales of hundreds of billions. CIMC Offshore is a wholly-owned subsidiary of CIMC Group and a mainstream supplier of high-end offshore equipment in the world. The company is mainly engaged in scientific research and finance. It has 3 international production bases for marine equipment, 4 technology research and development centers and 3 operation centers. 

“Science and technology are the primary productive force, talents are the primary resource, and innovation is the primary driving force”, this is the mission and task entrusted to scientific and technological workers in the new era, new mission, and new journey.
