The 2023 China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair (CIEF) was held from November 17 to 19 in Guangzhou. Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) was invited to attend the fair with 22 technologies and patents presented and was awarded with three awards for the first time, demonstrating the University's developments and achievements in science and industry-university collaborations.

The CIEF was co-hosted by China Association for Science and Technology, National Development and Reform Commission, Chinese Academy of Sciences, The Central Committee of Jiusan Society, The People's Government of Guangdong Province and The People's Government of Guangzhou Municipality. The CIEF, a platform for international release of innovative products and technology exchanges, has been successfully implemented for 9 times while the fair this year has the most displayed projects and the largest exhibition area.

A total of 22 technologies and patents from GTIIT were showcased at the venue of "The Belt and Road Initiative" and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Innovation Achievements Exhibition Area, together with more than 2000 exhibition items from over 200 companies and institutes.  

2023 is the third consecutive year that GTIIT participated in the CIEF and won three awards for the first time. Among them, the patent of "Method for Preparing Modified Polypropylene Film" invented by Prof. Daniel Tan was selected as the "The Most Valued Achievement in Investment" and Associate Professor Huang Xiaowu won "Award of Excellence and Innovation" for "The Belt and Road Initiative" Achievements Exhibition. Meanwhile, GTIIT was granted with "Excellent Participant" for the Exhibition.

It gives full play to its scientific research features and the advantages of Israel's advanced technological resources, and promotes technological innovation to serve the industry and benefit society.
