On January 18, the Second Session of the Third Board Meeting of Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) was held in the Academic Center of GTIIT South Campus both online and offline, to review the university's performance in 2023 and provide valuable advice for the future ahead.

Participants attending the meeting included Uri Sivan, Chair of GTIIT Board; Hao Zhifeng, Vice-Chair of GTIIT Board; and other Board members: Gong Xingao, Huang Huiyang, Liu Wenhua, Aaron Ciechanover, Oded Rabinovitch and Rafi Aviram. The meeting was presided over by Uri Sivan.

The Meeting approved the minutes of the Board Meeting held on July 11, heard reports on Academic Affairs, Undergraduate Studies, Graduate Studies, Recruitments, Student Affairs, Campus Constructions and Operations, Education Foundation, etc.

In the past year, GTIIT continuously enhanced talent cultivation, improved the ability of scientific research and innovation, focused on interdisciplinary development, broadened industry-university-research cooperation, and pushed forward campus construction, making positive progress in various undertakings.

Board members, leaders and guests affirmed GTIIT's achievements in discipline construction, teaching and research, and expressed their appreciation to all the staff for their hard work in the past year. They also offered suggestions on GTIIT's future planning.

Other attendees included Wang Xuezhu, Vice Mayor of Shantou Municipal Government; David Gershoni, Vice Chancellor of GTIIT; Moris Eisen, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs of GTIIT; Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs of GTIIT; Yigal Cohen, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Director General of GTIIT; Queena Yi, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Development of GTIIT; Dr. Frieda Law, representative from Li Ka-Shing Foundation; faculty representatives of GTIIT; directors from GTIIT departments, Shantou University, and Shantou Municipal Government, etc.
