On January 19, Prof. Gong Xingao, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chancellor of Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) led a team to attend Zhongzhan Joint Strategic Signing Ceremony and High-Quality Industrial Conference. At the event, GTIIT signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Zhongzhan United Research Institute and Chaozhou Huafeng Group Co., Ltd. donated funds to GTIIT to set up the "Huafeng Scholarship", enhancing deeper collaboration between the university and enterprises.

At the event, Chancellor Gong unveiled the nameplate of Zhongzhan United Research Institute with Mr. Liang Guozhan, Ms. Liang Yaling, etc.

Huafeng Group and GTIIT jointly applied for Zhongzhan United Research Institute as a "New R&D Institution". Through independent research and development, it has mastered a series of core technologies in new materials, new energy, biotechnology, and other fields. The institution has been granted invention patents and utility models, and published dozens of academic papers. It has been awarded with "New R&D Institution" and other titles by the People's Government of Guangdong Province in recent years.

Empowering Collaboration between Universities and Industries

PVC Yigal Cohen represented GTIIT to sign a strategic cooperation agreement with Zhongzhan United Research Institute and Prof. Dganit Danino called for proposals of the development of functional food ingredients from the universities and industries. GTIIT gives full play to its scientific research characteristics and technological resource advantages, further deepens cooperation with enterprises, and promotes the scientific and technological innovation to serve the industry and benefit the society.

Signing ceremonies were held between the research institute and universities, enterprises, to further promote the high-quality development of industry-university-research integration.

"Huafeng Scholarship" Helps Chaozhou Students Study at GTIIT

At the ceremony, Prof. Lin Danming represented GTIIT to sign a donation agreement with Ms. Liang Yaling of Huafeng Group. Huafeng Group donated 1 million yuan to GTIIT to set up the "Huafeng Scholarship", to reward GTIIT students from Chaozhou. This scholarship will encourage more outstanding Chaozhou students to receive international high-level science and engineering education at GTIIT, and further cultivate outstanding innovative talents.

GTIIT has been keeping a deep collaboration with Huafeng Group. Through the joint construction of student internship base, and the establishment of "Huafeng Scholarship" and industry-university-research platforms, the two sides give full play to their respective resource advantages, achieve in-depth cooperation in innovative talent cultivation and industry-university-research integration, and continue to achieve fruitful results.

Gathering Intellectuals for the Industry

High-quality development and scientific innovation is the focus of the government and the society. At the High-Quality Industrial Conference, Academicians and experts from universities including Chancellor Gong, Prof. Guan Yi, Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of United Kingdom and Prof. Chen Xiaodong, Fellow of Royal Academy of Sciences New Zealand presented their insights on the industry with the trending topics in respective fields.

Chancellor Gong delivered a keynote speech titled "From atom to computer/AI, and back." He mentioned that computing technology had advanced the development of material sciences, and the improvement of computational physical sciences will continuously contribute to the performance of computer. "Computing and Physics are mutually synergistic!" he concluded. Chancellor Gong's speech won waves of applause and reactions from the audience.
