To honour outstanding students and teachers and set great examples, Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) recently held the Awarding Ceremony of the Academic Year 2022-2023.

Prof. David Gershoni, Vice Chancellor of GTIIT; Prof. Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT; Mr. Yigal Cohen, Pro-Vice Chancellor & Director General of GTIIT; Prof. Varenyam Achal, Deputy Dean of Undergraduate Studies of GTIIT and faculty representatives from various programs attended the ceremony.

For the Academic Year 2022-2023, 122 students were awarded Academic Excellence Awards. Among them, there were 23 students in the Vice Chancellor's List, 60 students in the Dean's List and 39 students in the Program Head's List. 6 teachers received Excellence in Teaching Award. 6 students from 6 departments were awarded as representatives of Cohort 2023 for their excellent performance.

In the opening speech, Prof. David Gershoni noted that the ceremony was aimed to award the students' unwavering commitment to their studies as well as the exceptional guidance and support of our faculty and teachers, and inspire everyone to reach greater heights. "You are the embodiment of what we aspire to achieve in education – a pursuit of knowledge that transcends textbooks and classrooms, reaching into the real world to make a positive impact." He hoped the recipients of the awards uphold the values of excellence and move towards another year of outstanding achievements.

The ceremony also awarded the winners of the 2nd GTIIT Research Poster Competition. A total of 31 students formed 18 teams to participate in the contest and some were cross-major teams. After fierce competition, three teams were respectively awarded the Best Visual Design Award, the Best Presentation Award and the Best Innovative Research Award, highlighting the scientific research ability and spirit of GTIIT students.
