Stanford University has recently released the list of the World's Top 2% Scientists 2024. Eighteen professors from Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) were named on the list. The number of listed GTIIT faculty members hit a record high and multiple scholars are listed for three consecutive years.
The "Career-Long Impact List" includes 15 members from GTIIT faculty team:

The list, compiled by the team of Professor John P.A. Ioannidis of Stanford University, using citations from Scopus, an international scientific database, is based on standardized information of citations, h-index, co-authorship-adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions, and a composite indicator, covering more than 7 million scientists and scholars considered to be active worldwide, respectively from 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields.
GTIIT faculty members featured in the list are from various scientific fields including biotechnology, food science, organic chemistry, environmental sciences, chemical engineering, energy and materials. Ranking on the list demonstrates that GTIIT scholars are at the top level in their respective fields with high global influence and important contributions. It also shows GTIIT's remarkable achievements in the construction of a high-level academic talent team.
As the only Sino-foreign cooperative university on science and technology, GTIIT has introduced the high-quality educational resources of the world-renowned Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. GTIIT focuses on environment, energy, and human health, the key areas and basic disciplines in social and economic development and has been listed in the Guangdong High Level University Development Program.
GTIIT has demonstrated great potential in academic and research. Up to now, GTIIT faculty team has published more than 1200 papers, among which approximately 90% have been indexed by SCIE/EI, including a great number of high-cited ones.
