On November 8th, a conference on Guangzhou - GTIIT International Science and Technology Collaboration was held at Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT).
The event is hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangzhou Committee, Guangzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangzhou Municipality, and Consulate General of Israel in Guangzhou, and organized by GTEC. Nearly 20 representatives from Guangzhou's high-tech enterprises engaged in fruitful exchanges with GTIIT faculty members, opening up possibilities for further cooperation.
Mr. Alex Goldman Shayman, Consul General of Israel in Guangzhou; Mr. Yang Yong, President of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangzhou Committee; Mr. Xie Ming, Director General of Guangzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau; Prof. Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT, and Prof. Moshe Eizenberg, Dean of GTIIT Graduate Studies, attended the event and delivered speeches.
Prof. Lin Danming highlighted in his speech that as a Sino-foreign cooperative university focusing on science and engineering research, GTIIT has achieved remarkable results in scientific research and innovation, as well as industry-university-research cooperation in recent years, demonstrating rapid development momentum. He expressed hope that through this event, the university could engage in face-to-face in-depth discussions with the high-tech enterprises, jointly explore industrial issues, share innovative achievements, and push the integration of science and technology to new heights.
Mr. Alex Goldman Shayman introduced Israel's outstanding achievements in cultivating technological talents and promoting entrepreneurship and innovation, and pointed out that GTIIT was an important project for education and research cooperation between China and Israel. He hoped that through continuous, open, and professional dialogues between the industry and academic communities, market needs and scientific challenges faced by enterprises could be connected with the extraordinary scientific capabilities present at GTIIT.
Mr. Yang Yong stated that promoting the introduction of foreign advanced technology and various forms of Sino-foreign economic and technical cooperation has always been one of the priorities of CCPIT. GTIIT has advanced R&D levels in fields such as new energy, new materials, environment, and chemical engineering, which are highly aligned with Guangzhou's key areas and industrial development. He hoped that mutual technological benefits could be achieved through this event.
Mr. Xie Ming introduced Guangzhou's measures to accelerate the city's technological innovation. He hoped that GTIIT could continue to make progress in basic research, technological research and transformation, and drive the transformation of scientific and technological achievements into real productive forces.
Prof. Moshe Eizenberg introduced the century-long development history and robust innovation ecosystem of the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, expecting that this exchange could further deepen Sino-Israeli technological cooperation.
