Dr. Queena Yi, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT, signed the agreement with NICE

At the Conference, GTIIT signed the Co-op Operation Agreement with NICE. The two parties will try out the paid internship model (Co-op) to improve the system of internship and practice. The goal is to integrate the industrial resources of NICE, the undergraduate teaching of GTIIT and corporate training as a way to enrich undergraduate education and cultivate high-level engineering talents oriented toward industrial development.

Co-op, short for Cooperative Education, is a paid internship program for undergraduates. It's an effective practice of integrating industry and education and is a well-established talent cultivation model in many countries. NICE, jointly built by relevant institutions in the city of Shanghai and Provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui, is a comprehensive national technology innovation center approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China. In the coming future, students will have the opportunity to alternate between on-campus classes and work at a company on a regular basis. The project would help them learn professional development skills and accelerate their careers.

GTIIT is currently the only Sino-foreign cooperative university in science and technology, and is also the Chinese campus of the Technion, and a member of the Sino-foreign Cooperative University Union, included in the list of Guangdong High Level University Development Program. Integrating high-quality educational resources from the Technion, GTIIT offers engineering and science majors that align with national development, scientific advancement and industrial innovation. These programs center around three main areas: energy, environment and human health. The University carries out research on fundamental theories and key technologies, and cultivates outstanding talents with innovative ability, global vision, and humanistic quality.
