On November 21st, Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) held the 2024 Fanghui Scholarship Award Ceremony, to inspire students' academic pursuit and research enthusiasm, encouraging them to contribute to the society. Leaders and guests attending the ceremony included: Prof. Gong Xingao, Chancellor of GTIIT and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Zhang Yunhui, Chairman of Hunan Chamber of Commerce in Shantou, and other distinguished guests. The ceremony was presided over by Tao Liang, Dean for Research at GTIIT and head of Hunan Admissions Team of GTIIT.

The "Fanghui Scholarship" was established with a donation of one million yuan by Mr. Zhang Yunhui and his wife Mrs. Lu Huifang, aiming to support the undergraduate talent cultivation at GTIIT. 13 undergraduate students were awarded the scholarship this year.

Mr. Zhang Yunhui congratulated the award-winning students, hoping that this scholarship would inspire GTIIT students to delve deeper into academic exploration, contributing their youth and strength to social progress with a solid knowledge foundation and an open international perspective. "I also hope that the 'Fanghui Scholarship' can serve as a bridge for the community to pay attention to and support education, jointly promoting educational equity, improving education quality, and cultivating more outstanding talents with international competitiveness."

Wang Chuhao, a 2024 Cohort freshman and recipient of the Scholarship, expressed, "This scholarship is filled with the deep care and earnest expectations of the society. It is a powerful source of motivation on our academic journey, encouraging us to forge ahead and strive hard for our dreams with determination!"

"This scholarship is not only a recognition of our efforts but also fills me with more confidence for the future," said Cao Xuanwen, a 2023 Cohort student and recipient of the Scholarship, sharing her experiences at GTIIT. She hoped that her fellow students would cherish the time at GTIIT, explore their potential, and strive for brilliance for their hometown and the future.

Prof. Gong Xingao expressed gratitude on behalf of GTIIT to Mr. Zhang Yunhui and his wife for establishing the Scholarship and conveyed his expectations to the award-winning GTIIT students. "I hope you cherish this honor, maintain an upward attitude, and keep accumulating strength for your dreams. Expand your growth boundaries, make full use of our university's high-quality international teaching resources, learn things actively, and cultivate your innovative thinking. Always remember, not only be learners, but also users and creators of knowledge."
