Recently, the Youth League Committee of Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) organized the General Meeting of the 2024 Freshmen League branch on the south campus. Counselors and peer mentors were invited to provide guidance for the newcomers.

A total of 11 freshmen League branches were officially established this fall, injecting new vigor into our university. These League branches serve as solid "class collectives", not only providing a bridge for students to build friendships but also a warm source of mutual support during their four years here.

After intense competition, 22 students were elected as the cadres of the 2024 League branches at the Meeting. A special program planned by the official newspaper People's Daily was broadcast on the spot, leading the freshmen to comprehend the strength and responsibility inherent in Chinese youth.

Starting from the 2022 grade, GTIIT Youth League Committee and the Student Affairs Department have added a life committee member to each League branch, forming a student cadre team together with the existing League branch secretary. Such a team not only play important roles as planners and executors in various activities but also serve as close friends in students' daily lives.

One the one hand, they have worked closely to enrich League-related activities and enhance team cohesion. For example, they planned a badminton match, forging a close bond between students; gathered students to watch inspiring patriotic films; held interesting DIY cake-making activities; and carried out outdoor activities such as night running and hiking, enriching students’ leisure time while boosting their morale.

On the other hand, they have provided a vital support in students’ daily lives, such as listing to the need of every League branch member when visiting student dormitories. When faced with academic or life troubles of their peers, they always offer help to the best of their abilities, assisting everyone in integrating into university life.

Hopefully, each student at GTIIT will find a sense of belonging under the leadership of the Youth League Branch, fully display your talents, and bravely go for your dreams!
