On December 19th, the 4th "My Story with GTIIT" Speech Contest was held at the Auditorium of the North Campus of Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT). The contest was widely participated by staff and students. After intense competition, 10 contestants entered the final round.

Dr. Queena Yi, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT, gave a speech for the contest. "I sincerely hope that tonight's Contest will not only be a platform for our students and staff to showcase your talents and shining insights, but also an opportunity for all of us to be inspired and ignite the sparks of creativity and passion within all of us."

Based on his study, scientific research and life experience at GTIIT, Hu Shennan from Cohort 2022 shared his insights on how to learn independently, deal with pressure and discover one's aspirations, adding that we should believe in our abilities of independent learning, face pressure with resilience and find out what we want.

"GTIIT is not just buildings of brick and mortar, they are vibrant hubs of intellectual and cultural exchange, where the pursuit of knowledge is matched by the pursuit of understanding and compassion. In GTIIT, we witness a microcosm of global unity. Here, the East meets the West, not just in the exchange of knowledge, but in the shared pursuit of wisdom and brighter future." Dai Zhiyuan from Cohort 2024, shared with everyone the innovative and integrated campus atmosphere and rigorous scientific research spirit that she has felt at GTIIT since she studied here.

The contestants shared their diverse campus life, unique cross-cultural exchange experiences and personal growth journey at GTIIT. Using fluent English and powerful expressions, they fully showcased the spirit of "Dream it. Do it.", winning a big round of applause from the audience.

Mr. Eric Zeng, Director of the STU President's Office; Prof. Karen Chen from College of Liberal Arts of STU; Prof. Manuel VELAZQUEZ LEON from GTIIT English program; Dr. Ruwaida Abu Rass, English lecturer of GTIIT, and Ms. Kathleen Trudel, English teacher of GTIIT, were invited to be the judges of the contest, giving professional guidance to the contestants.

The contest awarded two first prizes, one second prize, three third prizes, four excellence prizes and one best stage performance award.

This speech contest enriched the cultural life of GTIIT teachers and students, provided a stage for them to showcase their talents, and also inspired GTers to embrace their future with a spirited and enterprising attitude.
