On January 2, the 4th Session of Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology's (GTIIT) Third Board Meeting was held in the Board Meeting Room on the south campus of GTIIT for the first time. The meeting summarized the university's achievements in 2024 and discussed on the blueprint for future development.
Participants attending the meeting included Uri Sivan, Chair of GTIIT Board; Hao Zhifeng, Vice-Chair of GTIIT Board; and other Board members: Gong Xingao, Huang Huiyang, Liu Wenhua, Oded Rabinovitch and Rafi Aviram. The meeting was presided over by Uri Sivan.
The Meeting approved the minutes of the Board Meeting held on July 16, 2024, heard reports on Academic Affairs, Scientific Research, Undergraduate Studies, Graduate Studies, Recruitments, Student Affairs, Campus Constructions and Operations, Education Foundation, etc.
Looking back at the past year, GTIIT has made remarkable achievements in scientific research and innovation, discipline construction, talent cultivation, international exchange and cooperation. These accomplishments have laid a solid foundation for the university to promote high-quality development and further enhance its educational standards and overall strength in the coming year.
The board members and distinguished guests at the meeting engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as the university's development plan, actively contributing valuable opinions and suggestions. GTIIT will seize this board meeting as an opportunity to further consolidate consensus, leverage its unique strengths, and stimulate educational vitality, with the aim of cultivating high-quality innovative talents and making contributions for the society.
Other attendees included Wang Xuezhu, Vice Mayor of Shantou Municipal Government; Tang Rui, Secretary of the Party Committee of STU; Dr. Frieda Law, representative from Li Ka-Shing Foundation; David Gershoni, Vice Chancellor of GTIIT; Moris Eisen, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs of GTIIT; Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs of GTIIT; Yigal Cohen, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Director General of GTIIT; Queena Yi, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Development of GTIIT; directors from departments of Shantou Municipal Government and Shantou University; faculty representatives and heads of departments of GTIIT.
